Since I get asked so many of the same questions, I thought I would write up an FAQ to provide a bit more information about how I work!
Please contact me if there’s anything you’d like to chat about![]()

- How would you describe your photography style?
I consider my style a mix of photojournalism and editorial photography. When I shoot a wedding, I try to tell a complete story of the wedding day. I absolutely love capturing great candid and emotional moments and mixing them in with shots of all the little details (especially shoes!) that make up the style of the day.
- Will you be the actual photographer present on the wedding day?
If you hire me, I will personally be the one covering your big day.
- Do you use a second shooter?
I like working with second shooters! I have a second shooter available as an option in my collections. I think having a second shooter brings not just another eye but also another perspective to round out the wedding coverage. Photographers that I hire as seconds are all professionals with businesses of their own and wedding experience under their belts. I do recommend having one, especially for larger weddings. - Do you include digital files?
Absolutely! I include high resolution jpeg proof files along with a wedding coverage collection. You will receive the files along with a personal use license, which allows you to print the photos to your heart’s content. - Can I order prints from you?
Short answer: Yes!
I will post your wedding images in an online ordering gallery when they are ready for you to view. Through the gallery you can browse all of your images, pick out favorites, and order prints. The advantage to ordering prints through me rather than printing your own digital files is that I print through a professional lab that produces archival, heirloom prints. In addition, for larger prints and wall canvases ordered through me, the image will go through another editing process to perfect and retouch it before it goes to print — this means that I’ll use the magic of Photoshop to take out any stray hairs, odd background elements, and anything else distracting. The final print will be crisper, cleaner and more vibrant.
- What is a “proof” image?
A proof image is an image that has gone through my basic editing process, which includes color correction and exposure correction as well as some black and white conversions. These proof images are the versions you will receive as jpegs. Unlike prints ordered through me, they do not go through any further retouching or mastering. - Do you have insurance?
Yes, my business is fully insured! - Do you carry backup equipment?
I always carry backup equipment in case something happens to my own. There are so many unknowns in a wedding day that I think it is very important to have backup equipment that I can rely on. - How much $$ are your wedding collections?
Check out my Rates page for some more information on pricing. I have some standard collections, but I also like to work with couples to create custom collections that fit their specific needs. - How can I book you for my wedding?
Great question
I require a signed contract and a retainer payment of 1/3 of your collection price to hold a wedding date. Just contact me to get started with your booking.
Engagement Sessions

- Do you offer engagement sessions?
I love engagement sessions and offer them along with all of my wedding collections! I think these sessions are a great way to connect and for you to feel comfortable with me shooting before the wedding day. Also, I think it’s great to celebrate your engagement with some relaxed portraits.
- What exactly is an engagement session?
An engagement session is a portrait session for a couple, usually on location somewhere in NYC. I encourage my couples to pick a favorite or meaningful place that we can center the session around. - What does an engagement session include?
You will receive the digital proof files from the session, and I also offer products like a guest signing book for the wedding and custom designed save-the-date cards. If you have a project in mind, we can incorporate it into the session!
Albums

- What kind of albums do you offer?
I offer flush mount albums, which is an album style where a photographic print is mounted all the way to the edge of the page. This style of album allows me full control over the entire page in the design process. I offer a variety of cover styles, including leather and silk. -
Can I see a sample album?
Sure! You can check out some of my albums online here: Albums. I also keep sample albums that you can see in person. -
Do you design your own albums?
Yes! I think it is important for me to design a wedding album myself since it is, in my opinion, the final result and will hold so many memories of your wedding day. I want my vision to carry through all the way to the design. I personally design the albums and then clients go through a design process to make any changes they want to the design.
Techie Camera Questions

- What camera equipment do you use?
I am a Canon girl and currently shoot with a pair of Canon 5d Mark II cameras (100% digital). At weddings, I shoot with two cameras at all times! My very favorite lenses are the 100mm f2.8 IS macro and the 70-200 f2.8 IS. I also love the 16-35 f2.8, 50 f1.4, 85 f1.8 and 24-105 f4 lenses. My favorite lens for food photos is the 90mm T/S, but it doesn’t see a whole lot of action at a fast-pace wedding
- Do you use any off camera lighting?
Yes! Being in control of light is one of the most important aspects of being a photographer. I am comfortable shooting in available light, and I also use flashes. Nothing screams “point and shoot” like strong flash coming straight from the camera, so I use off camera flashes along with pocket wizards at a wedding reception, and I also bounce an on-camera flash as part of my lighting arsenal.
