It’s been a while since I’ve posted here… so much to catch up on! I’ll be posting up a bunch of new weddings and other sessions soon, but I thought I’d post up about my big news first My husband and I are the proud new parents of a little boy! It has definitely been a lifestyle change for us, since it also meant moving out of NYC and to the suburbs of Long Island (it’s been a busy year for us!), but it has been such a joy to be a parent. I am so in love with this little guy!

He was a December baby, so I had to break out the Santa hat

Kristen & Bryan’s Wedding – Falkirk Estate, Central Valley, NY

Kristen and Bryan were married on a gorgeous July day at the beautiful Falkirk Estate and Country Club. You might remember them from their engagement photos, which I had such a great time shooting! Their wedding was relaxed and fun, but also super elegant. The beautiful flowers were by Weddings by David Anthony. Kristen wore a fabulous Private Label by G dress, which looked just as amazing from the back when she had it bustled. For me, one of the highlights of the evening was when DJ Gaza busted out some Rancid and the crowd started skankin’ it up I’d expect nothing less from a groom with a website called Ska Punk Photos!

I was also really excited to give my new photobooth a whirl. Check out a few of the photos at the bottom of this post

We had a near-disaster on the way to the venue… the limo literally fell off the road! Luckily a nice neighbor came to the rescue and everything turned out OK!

Bryan and Kristen had a huge dessert table set up by Falkirk Estate, and it was amazing. In addition to the pastries, they also had a Belgian waffle station, gelato, sorbet and about eight different cakes! Yum

The food was so delicious, the chefs got a round of applause when they came out at a guest’s request

The photobooth I brought along seemed to be a hit… here’s a little slideshow of some of the fun photobooth shots!

Lisa & Bobby’s Wedding – Patriot Hills, Stony Point, NY

I had a wonderful time at Lisa and Bobby’s wedding! The Patriot Hills country club provided a gorgeous background to both their ceremony and reception. My favorite detail of the wedding had to be the centerpieces in the reception room. Lisa and Bobby actually created a useful centerpiece — they had a big bowl of candy at each table, and for the favors each guest had a little takeaway box to fill with the candy. Genius

Becca & Jake – New York, NY – Expecting

Becca and Jake may be the ones expecting a new family addition any day now, but their two dogs, John and Ella, really stole the show at our maternity session in Fort Tryon Park!

Yes, we actually did some maternity shots…

Although the dogs weren’t too happy about being tied up while we did them!

The light in Fort Tryon Park was perfect. I love sunset on the west side of Manhattan

Karine & Al – Stamford, CT – Expecting

Karine and Al are expecting a baby girl next month, and I was very excited to get the opportunity to document Karine’s pregnancy She looks amazing!

After the first part of our shoot, we headed to Greenwich, CT for Karine’s baby shower. There was some really nice light so obviously I pulled her aside for a few more photos

Check out this lady bug nail polish! I love it

Karine’s baby shower had a children’s book theme. It was really adorable and there were so many little details!

Engagement Session – a client’s perspective…

How awesome are Bryan and Kristen? They put together a very cool website and blog for their big day, and I was so excited to read about our engagement shoot together from their perspective. Thanks so much guys, I can’t wait for your wedding!

Picking a wedding photographer isn’t an easy task for a couple. It’s one of the more important aspects of the wedding besides the DJ and the food/venue. If you choose the right photographer you can preserve those wedding memories for years. Kristen and I felt Kimberly Salem’s photography documented weddings so beautifully, that we wanted that style for our wedding. We had a nice engagement session with Kim back in September 2010 and the photos came out really lovely!

We decided to have our engagement session in Central Park, right around when the leaves were turning. The leaves were only just turning but the photos still came out amazing. The location was on the West Side of Central Park, near The Museum of Natural History. There were lots of bridges, and little spots for great photo shoots. Honestly, we probably could have been there all day with all the excellent locations available for photos.

It was nice getting to know Kim, as a person and as a photographer. It’s always helpful to meet your photographer before the wedding that way you can get used to being in front of the camera and working with your chosen photographer. Throughout the engagement session, I just couldn’t help but laugh at my poses and what to do with my hands. I’m usually the one behind the camera, so it was a bit weird to have my photo taken. Kim gave us pointers and suggestions on what to do and that helped out a lot. We were really happy with the final engagement photos and can’t wait to see what Kimberly Salem does with our wedding photos!

Nicklas – Austin, TX – Family Portraits

My husband and I recently took a trip to Austin, TX to visit our very dear friends Jen and Chuck and their new arrival, Nicklas! We had a great time and not only did we get our fill of adorable baby-ness, but we also ate some amazing Mexican food and authentic Texas BBQ (see the images at the bottom of the post ) Thanks to Jen and Chuck for hosting us and we can’t wait to see you guys again! xoxo

I am so exited that Megan & Matt’s Mardi Gras-themed wedding is featured on Perfect Bound today! Anderson – Battery Park City – NYC Family Portraits

Anderson and his parents Alli and Chris came out to NYC for this session, and it was so much fun! I’m not exaggerating one bit when I say that this kid is a massive ball of energy! It’s pretty much to be expected when his parents are two amazing athletes. I had a great time capturing him running around playing.

Luckily we got a few family shots in before he started messing up his hair

Then, the exploring began!

He had a lot of fun with this huge pile of leaves.

I love their eyes in this next photo. Their whole family has amazing eyes!
