Aislinn – Madison Square Park

Ais is always a breath of fresh air to be around. She has such an open, vibrant personality that you can’t help but smile when you see her!

We had a lot of fun during this shoot at Madison Square Park. I think we both left much more happy and energized than when we arrived:)

I love her hair! Coming from someone with stick-straight hair, her waves look so pretty and naturally frame her face.

One thing that seemed to help her relax was climbing up tall monuments;)

I loove the texture in this stone sculpture… so perfect with her hair!

I love the first picture, you’re very talented !

Emma – Washington Square Park

Emma is one of those rare people who is so talented, she barely knows how to contain all of her gifts:)She is an amazing actress, playwright, rugby player, and a future doctor! She met me in Washington Square Park to do some headshots and casual portraits.

It was so much fun to photograph her. She is a real natural in front of the camera, since she’s used to having headshots taken.

Seriously… check out those arm muscles!:)

We tried to get a few different types of headshots, ranging from the more happy/commercial:

To a more urban style:

And I had to get in a couple of creative portraits!

This one I think is my favorite… so hard to pick, but I love the moss and the catchlight in her eyes!

Thanks so much for coming out to play, Emma!!:)Hope you had as much fun as I did!

Heather & Welinton are engaged!

It was so exciting to do my first ever engagement shoot with Heather & Welin! Heather and I had planned out the shoot months in advance — she wanted shots in Central Park, and maybe a few in Times Square. Our plans changed a little bit when she spied this gorgeous graffiti-covered wall on her way down the West Side Highway:

It was so colorful and graphic! Heather had brought a few outfits for them both to change into, and I think these looked perfect with the colors of the wall:)

From there, we made our way to Central Park via the courtyard of the Plaza Hotel.

It’s amazing to me that these next two shots were taken about a block away from each other. NYC is full of such great juxtapositions.

This heart was carved into the Gapstow Bridge (also in the background above). Heather used to spend a lot of time sitting and reading on the bridge when she first came to NYC, so it was nice to include a place that was really special to her:)

Did I mention Heather’s costume changes?;)She is a total fashionista! I am in awe of those heels!

This was one of the last pics of the day. We couldn’t leave without including a horse-drawn carriage!

They’re getting married in the Dominican Republic, and I wish I could stow away in their luggage to go with them;)Congratulations Heather & Wellington! I had a great time with you guys, and I know you will have a beautiful wedding and marriage!

Very cute… I like the black in whites in the park the best. The one of them sitting is just gorgeous…

Valérie - September 1, 2009 - 7:58 am

Heather is very beautiful, I love what she wears (and the shoes) !

Jackie – Battery Park City

Jackie & I had some fun walking along the Esplanade in Battery Park City (my neighborhood!) Jackie is one of the captains of my rugby team. You wouldn’t think it to look at her, but she is one of the best tacklers ever:)

This is one of the first shots I took with my new 70-200 lens (aka one of those giant white Canon lenses!) I love the trees in the background:

She was a little nervous at first, so I made her lie down to relax;)

The daffodils had just started to show themselves… it’s been a bleak winter and I am so glad to finally see a little bit of color!

I think she’s dreaming about making a really awesome tackle.

Jackie jumping

At the end of our shoot, I asked her to play around and try jumping. She definitely had the most fun with this shot!:)

Thanks so much for a fun day, Jackie!:)I had an awesome time with you. Next time we’ll do some more action shots;)
